Spicy Sesame Noodles

Do you like sesame? I do! Not just the seeds, but dark sesame oil.  It has this rich, robust, and hearty flavor that smells delectable.  These noodles are great on their own or with your choice add-in (protein… veggies… garnishes…) – we shredded up some of the Asian-Style Pork Ribs and folded them in.  Very satisfactory!

Spicy Sesame Noodles:

  • 12 ounces,  Noodles, Cooked And Drained (reserving 1-2 Tbsp)
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp Chili-Garlic Sauce, or more to taste (I prefer: Huy Fong‘s)
  • 1/2 tsp minced ginger
  • 2 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1-3 Tbsp Dark Sesame Oil (if using this oil is new to you, start with less…)
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 whole Green Onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds, toasted

Directions: Whisk together all the wet ingredients  in a large bowl. Taste and adjust to your preferences; maybe add more sugar, or Dark Sesame Oil, more Chili-Garlic Sauce, and/or if it is too strong try more olive or canola oil.) Cook noodles of your choice, we used thin spaghetti – had it on hand, drain; reserving a few Tbsp of water w/noodles); stir in sauce mixture.  Sprinkle in garnishes: green onions, toasted sesame seeds; Dish up!!

Noodles, don’t noodles? Either way I hope if you have not tried Dark Sesame Oil that you have a new-found interest in this powerful ingredient!!
