Weekly Boozer: Adult Hot Chocolate

In Cooking, Uncategorized, Weekly Boozer on February 4, 2011 at 8:09 pm

Oooo Baby it’s cold outside.  That calls for a hot drink! 😉 This gourmet twist on hot chocolate uses Nutella in the place of chocolate or cocoa and is equally enjoyable without the booze.  But… twice as warming with!!  I used a dark rum, but Frangelico, Bailey’s, or Amaretto would all be lovely!

Adult Hot Chocolate:

2 cups milk
1 cinnamon stick
a little fresh grated nutmeg
1/2 Tbsp Agave, medium
1/2 cup Nutella
1 ounce of dark rum, optional

Directions: Warm 2 cups of milk, agave, cinnamon and nutmeg in a saucepan.  Once milk begins to steam, or is warm enough to your liking, remove cinnamon stick and stir in Nutella.  This takes a little patient stirring as Nutella is super thick, but it will melt; once you mixture is back up to a nice warm temp remove from heat and stir in rum or alcohol of your choice.   Pour into the drinking vessel of your choice.

Enjoy… maybe even share…most of all stay warm!

  1. oh my…I think I need to get some dark rum..this sounds yummy.

  2. Thanks Samina – I need some of those 3-ingredient brownies to make it over the top!! 😉
